James is a bright red steam engine!

Bio/Personality:

James's personality can vary on his mood. Sometimes, he can be very kind and helpful but also can be very snotty, rude, pompous and vain. When tasked with pulling coaches, he makes it all the worth while and thinks he is the pride of the line, but when pulling trucks, he resents this and thinks it is degrading and disgusting for an engine of his status to pull dirty goods trucks. He also has very high standards when coming to his paintwork, with one scratch on the paint, he wont stop complaining!

Appearances:

  1. The Big Three

Basis:

James is based on the L&YR Class 28, a class of 0-6-0 mixed-traffic tender locomotive designed by George Hughes for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway and built by Horwich Works between 1909 and 1912. It was a rebuild of Aspinall's Class 27, with the addition of a Belpaire firebox, a Schmidt/"twin-plug" superheater and the extension of the footplate and front sandboxes.

Livery:

James is painted in NWR red with black lining and gold boiler bands. His dome is brass and his number is painted on the sides of his tender in yellow with black lining. When he came to the NWR in 1926, he was painted black and has the LYR logo on his tender
